Meditation for CIRS (Repeating on Mondays)

Are you on the path of recovery for CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and looking to meditate in community? Come along Monday evenings and learn how to mindfully explore your body, heart and mind through meditation with other CIRS folks who “get it.” This weekly drop-in meditation class rooted in the foundations of mindfulness will be taught by Melanie Pensak, Certified Mindfulness Teacher, Shoemaker Proficiency Provider Diplomate and CIRS patient. Each 30- minute session includes: A brief teaching on a mindfulness topic related to CIRS recovery A guided meditation related to the teaching Time for questions and reflection with the community Sessions are designed to be short and accessible for those in all stages of recovery and energy levels.  You’re invited to show up however you are, wherever you are that day for a trauma-informed mindfulness session that can help calm your limbic system and provide you with tools to navigate the CIRS healing journey. The sessions run every Monday for 30 minutes @ 4 PM PST/7 PM EST through the online meditation membership platform. Choose CIRS Premier or CIRS Only Package Membership through The Practice Portal.

Mindfully Navigating CIRS Recovery: Intro to Meditation 6-week Course

  WHO SHOULD SIGN UP? This 6-week course is appropriate for those with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and on the Shoemaker Recovery path. It is designed for those who are new to mindfulness meditation practices or for experienced meditators looking to begin again in community. Teachings will directly relate to CIRS experiences. *** The course is for those who are on Step 2 of the Shoemaker protocol (out of external exposure, on biotoxin binders) or beyond, who feel they can commit to 6 weeks of attendance an are willing to complete pre and post research surveys.*** WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? Each 1 to 1.5 hour session will provide guidance on different elements of mindfulness meditation and embodiment.  You will learn a variety of mindfulness meditations and practical ways to integrate mindfulness into CIRS recovery. Honoring Loss & Transforming Grief in CIRS Recovery 4-Week Course

  WHO SHOULD SIGN UP? This 4 -week live, online course is appropriate for those with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) on the Shoemaker Recovery path.  It is best for those who are in clean housing, on binders and are aware that grief is showing up in their healing journey.  WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? Each 1-1.5 hour session will provide a guided grounding practice to prepare the nervous system, a teaching and experiential, interactive activities to help touch into, feel and transform grief with community. Time of session depends on number of participants and sharing. Teachings will directly relate to CIRS recovery experiences. WHAT TOPICS WILL BE COVERED?
